Over 100 participants joined in person and more than 80 online, bringing together partners from across Europe—including NIRI leading researchers Jānis Kloviņš and Monta Brīvība—as well as our advisory boards, representatives from the European Commission, and new colleagues from Bosnia & Herzegovina and Armenia, who joined the GoE family as observer countries.
As André G. Uitterlinden reflected after the meeting:

Genome of Europe goal is to build a collective reference genome cohort (GoE Cohort) of European citizens, selected to mirror the genetic composition of the European population. This will generate a solid basis for the development of personalised medicine and health approaches in Europe.
